Meet the Author

Marcelle Lisibach (pen name Alex Cardo) was born in Co. Mayo, Ireland. Her mother was from Mayo and her father was from Locarno in Switzerland. He was multi-lingual, which inspired her love of languages.

She read English, French, History and Sociology at University College Galway. She taught English and French literature for over 40 years and also spent time in France and Switzerland. Most of her working life was spent in North Kildare where she lived with her family, firstly in army quarters in the Curragh Camp and then in the countryside with a menagerie of animals including hens, cats, dogs, ponies and horses. She has a great love of animals. However, she is happiest when visiting the west coast of Ireland. Her love of reading began during a childhood illness where she was confined to bed for several weeks. She has been reading murder mysteries ever since.

Having retired, she fulfilled a lifetimes dream to write a cozy murder mystery.

Murder in the Parlour is her first novel where she introduces the Retired Intelligence Officer Alexander de Bruin and Inspector Muldoon. It is set in the fictional townland of Briarstown, Kildare in the late 70s.

She is working on two follow up mysteries presently.

I will try to get back to everyone as soon as possible on my email.
